Formerly editor of the now defunct Here & Now magazine in Byron Bay, as well as co-publisher of the also defunct internationally acclaimed Kindred magazine, Mark O’Brien started the Byron Body & Soul Guide in 1999.
A writer with a keen social conscience and an ear for bullshit, Mark is very concerned about the role of media as simply a marketing tool of big business.
As a magazine editor and publisher (who understands the financial pressures of staying afloat) he knows the pressures that advertisers can place on editorial content, overt or not, as well as the corrupting influence of vested interests.
