Flu Vaccine Increases Risk Of Swine Flu

In an article on the ABC website a report has surfaced of research showing that the commonly prescribed flu vaccine increases risk of swine flu.
The article refers to a report of some Canadian studies that appeared in the Plos Medicine Journal followed 2700 people with and without H1N1 (Swine Flu).
One study showed that while season flu vaccine reduced the risk of season flu, getting this vaccine was associated with a 68% increased likelihood of contracting Swine Flu, while other studies simply showed a link between vaccination and increased Swine Flu infection.
Researchers are careful to say that this does not prove a causal link between vaccination and Swine Flu, citing that some the unidentified influence may be causing the apparent connection.
In the convolutions of the thinking of such scientists, it is recommended that Swine Flu vaccinations be included with seasonal flu vaccinations to reduce this risk.
They will do this rather than saying that there is a problem with the flu vaccines on the market, and that perhaps there is actually an issue with how these vaccines impact on the body and its immune system.
Dr Ian Barr, Deputy Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Reference and Research on Influenza says that the causal connection is unfounded and says it is hard to read much into this research.
Given, however, the trouble the WHO is currently in from the European Parliament regarding scaremongering re Swine Flu, the WHO appears to no longer be the organisation in which to place our trust regarding Swine Flu.
Dr Barr also said that expected infections of H1N1 (Swine Flu) for 2010 are less than 2009 as the pool of those without immunity has shrunk.
