New Study: GM Corn Causes Cancer
A new study recently (circa Sept 20120) published in the journal Food and Chemical Toxicology, researchers from The Committee for Research & Independent Information on Genetic Engineering (CRIIGEN), reported on results of a two year study.
Rats were fed either NK603 Roundup-tolerant genetically modified maize grown with or without RoundUp or fed RoundUp alone, at levels permissible in drinking water and GM crops in America.
Currently no there are no regulatory requirements of mandatory animal studies of edible GM food crops or formulated pesticides, and the only 90 day trials were conducted by the industry, the results of which tend to be distorted.
The results of this study were an unprecedented confirmation of of how GM food and agrichemicals cause cancer.
In this study, females of all groups died 2-3 times as much as in the control groups. Females developed large mammary tumours, plus the pituitary glands.
Sex hormone balance was severely disrupted, while in males liver congestion and necrosis was 2-3 times at higher than control groups.
Severe kidney disorders were on average twice as common in males, with 4 times the large tumours than in the control groups.
This study again shows that the lack of regulation of the biotech GM food industry may well be killing us, and out governments just seem to be welcoming it with open arms.
